Chris Deputy is a communications specialist with over 15 years experience working in Higher Education, Science Communications, and the Media Industry. He is currently a communications officer for the BBC, the United Kingdom’s national broadcaster, working with on screen talent to publicise the work of the BBC in the various regions of England. He also works with high profile people, from Members of Parliament to regional business leaders and influencers to manage the public relations side of the BBC. 

Chris is a public engagement and science communicator, working within diverse fields of expertise from integrative biology to clinical psychology, helping scientists to translate their often complex research into engaging and understandable narratives for a public audience.  

Chris has a background in television production, and delivers science communications lectures to postgraduate students at the University of Liverpool and hosts workshops to teach media skills to school aged children, university students, graduates, and academic staff.
